Carolina Butterfly Society, or CBS, is a nonprofit organization that emphasizes observing butterflies rather than collecting them. CBS operates in chapters across North and South Carolina’s biogeographic regions, and come together to share resources and organize field trips to observe butterfly behavior.
The branding identity for CBS is inspired by the Carolinas and their history in the textile industry, using quilt-inspired pictographs, and a riso-inspired color palette, a sustainable soy-ink-based printing practice, to distinguish separate chapters.
